Fuelco South Africa are hiring a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – FUEL STORAGE SOLUTIONS for our Johannesburg office. Position description and requirements as below:

Duties & Responsibilities

Business development and key account management

  • Responsible for the entire sales process from initial contact with new clients through to closure ending in preferably a long-term relationship. The BDM will also be required to manage key accounts to further maximise the business from the customer.
  • Build strong working relationships with the Managing Director and other leadership to formulate and develop effective marketing and business strategies that will align with the overall company objectives.
  • Formulation and implementation of account development plans
  • • Establish objectives for Rand volume, distribution, and support for specified products.
  • Develop a marketing plan to ensure company brand is known in the marketplace.
  • Understand the different exhibitions that will need to be attended to create brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Prepare and present plan to achieve sales objectives (key account plan).
  • Achieve budgets and adhere to sales plan.
  • Oversee the overall customer experience. Develop and implement strategies that will optimise the experience and reflect the company values and mission.
  • Maintain product knowledge.
  • Manage Local Sales and into Africa

Maintain Effective Communication

  • Effective communication with production, procurement, and higher management.
  • Advise management about market conditions, brand/product performance and competition affecting targeted industries.
  • Provide Manager (Managing Director) with weekly sales report.
  • Track and report on key sales indicators.
  • Resolve production and product issues with customers.

Develop Knowledge and Skills

  • Study the operations and performance of accounts and analyse competitive activity.
  • Maintain industry and account database.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Industry Expereince

At least 3 years' experience in the Fuel / Petrochem / Construction and Mining Industry (good technical knowledge is required)

General Expereince

At least 5 years' experience in a Senior Technical Sales Rep/Sales Manager/Business

Development Manager role

  • Ability to build and execute marketing strategies that align with the company branding and financial projections.
  • Experience with direct response campaigns, in brand management, Lead generation optimisation experience and exhibitions is required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Keeps company mission and purpose at the forefront of the brand message.
  • A hands-on roll-up your sleeves mind-set.
  • Innovative and creative thinker.
